Wireless Setup – WEP

Click ‘Setup’ at the top.
Click ‘Wireless’ on the left hand side.
Click ‘Wireless Security’ on the left hand side, below ‘Wireless’.
Set the Security Mode to WEP.
Next to ‘WEP Key Length’, choose either 64 bits or 128 bits.
64 bits – 5 numbers and/or letters long.
128 bits – 13 numbers and/or letters long.
Input your desired password into the ‘WEP Key1’ box.
Make sure the box next to ‘Choose WEP Key’ is set to 1.
When you’ve finished, click apply.

 

Wireless Setup – WPA

Click ‘Setup’ at the top.
Click ‘Wireless’ on the left hand side.
Click ‘Wireless Security’ below that.
Put the Security Mode to ‘WPA Only’
Select your WPA Encryption.

 

Hard Reset

To do a hard reset, there is a button on the back of the router that says ‘reset’. Which will be inbetween the WPS and WLAN buttons.
You may need a needle or the end of a paperclip to be able to press the reset button.
Hold the button down for 5 seconds. This will reset the router to its factory default settings.

 

USB Storage

Open web browser (internet explorer, firefox, google chrome, etc)
Type in the address bar 192.168.0.1 (as default unless changed)
Username: admin (as default unless changed)
Password: admin (as default unless changed)
Click on Advanced on the top bar
Check Enable Samba
Workgroup is typically default on Microsoft operating systems
Change the Netbios to shared or any other name you wish
Modify the password, remember this for later
Make sure Enable USB Storage is checked
Click Apply
Connect USB Storage device to the back of the router
Click on Management on the top bar
Click on reboot
Open Windows explorer (Can open My Computer)
Type in the top bar \\shared (or the Netbios name you have set in step 8)
Please wait for the security prompt
Type username is root
Type the password set previously

 

Check SYSTEM LOG for errors

Click ‘Status’ at the top.
Click ‘Logs’ on the left hand side.
Can you see the following error message in the list?
User name and password incorrect or CHAPS authentication failed. If so, then you have entered your ISP Username or password incorrectly.

 

Disable DHCP server.

Click ‘Setup’ at the top.
Click ‘Local Network’ on the left hand side.
Scroll down until you see ‘DHCP SETTINGS (OPTIONAL)’.
Untick the box next to where it says ‘Enable DHCP Server’.
Scroll down and click apply.

 

Obtain DNS from router

Click on ‘Advanced’ at the top.
Scroll down until you see ‘DNS’ on the left hand side, it will be near the bottom of the list.
Click DNS.
Under ‘DNS Server Configuration’, click the round button next to where it says ‘Obtain DNS Server address automatically’.
Click apply.

 

Change router login

Click ‘Management’ at the top.
Click ‘Access Controls’ on the left hand side.
Click ‘User Management’ beneath that.
Choose whether you are an admin, user or support.
Input your new desired username and password. When you’ve finished, click apply.

 

Port Forwarding

Click ‘Advanced’ at the top.
Click ‘Port Forwarding’ on the left hand side near the top.

 

Disable NAT

Cick ‘Adavanced’ at the top.
Click ‘NAT’ on the left hand side near the bottom.

 

Enable DMZ

Click ‘Advanced’ at the top.
Click ‘DMZ’ on the left hand side.
Choose your WAN Connection from the drop down list.
Tick the box next to ‘Enable DMZ’.
Type in the DMZ Host IP Address in the box below, then click apply.
